In 2009, MSN (Microsoft Network part of Kagiso Media) approached Private Property to become a content partner for the South African MSN portal. Private Property jumped at the opportunity and we implemented the site.
Create and host a property portal hosting Private Property listings styled to the MSN portal specifications. The portal also had to keep track of the number of Unique Browsers as this formed the basis for the agreement.
Specifications had to be mocked up to determine the scope of the project. An agreed set functionality was then put into production. The new portal was developed accordingly and rolled out.
The same portal was then used to create a template system. Nearly 80 estate agents’ websites, East Coast Radio and Jacaranda FM later on also formed part of the same code base, with varying templates.
Kagiso Media later acquired the Junction Group who then used Property Junction. The above mentioned portal is no longer in use for Kagiso Media, but still for the estate agents.
The website hosted nearly 30 000 unique browsers every month and became South Africa’s 3rd busiest property portal.
